University of Louisiana - Monroe |
Ray & Angela Ewing come to Louisiana from Idaho to re-pioneer Chi Alpha at ULM. The Ewings interned in Louisiana as a part of the first class of the Diversity Project - they did their practical ministry under Greg Pampell at Louisiana Tech. The Monroe campus has been pretty difficult to get a break through on - please pray for and help support the Ewings! |

If there is a Chi Alpha group with stories to tell it's Chi Alpha at La Tech! There was a guy named Denny Duron who made a name for himself as a student and athlete - his impact touched some key men who have gone on to have some great influence.
The ministry has been under the awesome leadership of Greg & Angie Pampell for the last 8years. Greg & Angie are both graduates from Tech and involved with Chi Alpha as undergraduates. The ministry is still having influence in almost every aspect of the campus. The Chi Alpha house burned down a few years ago and things are now moving toward building a new house very soon! |

Chi Alpha at Nicholls State started on October 7, 1982, six months after the conversion of Eric Treuil who started the group as a student at Nicholls. The group had several student leaders until 1997 when Josh & Heather Higgins arrived and stayed for 5 years.
In 2005, Chris and Felicity Buckel arrived at Nicholls State as the new full time nationally appointed staff. Chris and Felicity, both natives of South LA. and Nicholls Alumnus, are both committed to Thibodaux and the NSU Community for the long haul. Thanks to over 20 years of prayer and laboring for this community, we believe that the future is bright for Nicholls State Chi Alpha. Because Chris worked at and was saved at Nicholls, there has been many favorable opportunities to reach different sectors of the campus. These strategic opportunities have led to favor with Athletics, Greeks and the International Community. In order to continue to facilitate this ministry, the next major goal for the group is a physical presence on campus. We've operated for over 20 years without a building, the time is right, we need to be more accessible to the needs of our growing community.

With nearly 30,000 students on campus, LSU is Louisiana's largest and best known campus. This ministry flourished under 10 straight years of full-time pastoral leadership. For the past year the ministry was student led, but the group maintained its size of 100 students. The new campus missionaries Josh & Heather Higgins will be presented at the District Chi Alpha Breakfast at the upcoming District Council. |
In the early 1980's Chi Alpha was the largest religious group on the McNeese campus - however, the group went dormant for about 20 years and has just made it's comeback under the leadership of Sullivan & Shonda Turner. The Turners call New Orleans home, and each of them committed their lives to Christ while students at Nicholls State Univeristy. |
Matt & Jen Degier have pioneered Chi Alpha in the city of New Orleans beginning at Tulane University followed by Loyola and UNO. They operate a presence on all three campuses with a monthly city-wide meeting. This Fall the Degier's are joined by Josh & Rachel Harvey who will be focusing on the campus of Loyola. The motto for the ministry is "faith, community, and action". |

Chi Alpha at UL-Lafayette has grown from its simple beginnings in the early 1970's to become one of the largest student ministries on the UL campus. UL Chi Alpha has a ministry presence in many strategic groups on campus such as athletics and among the international students population. Eric and Anabelle Treuil are celebrating 22 years of ministry on the campus, and they are complimented by a team of ministers, including Kelsey Tomes and Lee & Bri Blakney. |
